Given the economic and socio-political shift that has occurred in the domestic and international scene, The United Republic of Tanzania adopted a Foreign Policy focusing on economic diplomacy to secure the core national interest as a sovereign state.
As matters of bilateral trade between Tanzania and Switzerland are covered by the Embassy of Tanzania in Berlin, the economic diplomacy function of our Mission reflects the multilateral nature thereof, which involves engaging multiple nations in dialogue and negotiation, through international organisations and forums, to project, promote and protect Tanzania´s economic, interests while promoting cooperation among others to tackle complex global challenges like climate change and health crises.
Our participation in multilateral processes improves our chances of accessing the benefits of a globalized economy more fairly and effectively, and thereby improving our chances of increasing Trade and Investment, promoting Tourism, as well as developing other sectors of economy.
